About this Station
STAC’s weather station equipment (Davis Instruments’ Vantage Pro 2 Plus™) is powered by both solar and conventional (alternating current) energy. An inside console collects the data - wirelessly - and passes it along to a XLAB computer running Weather Display™ software (version 10.37S-build 138) which organizes it and “hands it off” to this website (which uses, in the main, PHP scripting software and templates developed by Saratoga Weather. The station is comprised of a sensor suite containing an anemometer, rain gauge, thermo-hydro sensor, and solar/UV sensors, all situated in optimal positions for the highest accuracy possible. As a member of the Citizen Weather Observer Program (CWOP), our station has been officially registered with the designation GW0800. STAC’s weather station also submits data to the Weather Underground under the designation KNYORANG7.
